For beginners (and many others) stability is the single most important quality of a kite because of its major impact on safety and ease of use. Peter Lynn Twinskin kites are famous for their exceptional stability and user friendliness and in most cases are by far the best choice for beginners.

Besides avoiding the unbalanced weight distribution caused by a large leading edge bladder, Twin Skin technology creates a smoother aerodynamic shape. The Airflow around the wing is less turbulent which enables the kite to generate more power, lift and float. The large number of cells in the wing also allows the designers to give individual parts of the kite particular flying characteristics; e.g. having the center of the kite produce more lift, while having the wing tips maximize stability.

Kiteboard Reel Leash

This NSI kiteboard reel leash is highly recommended for anyone who uses a board leash and especially for beginners. Although it keeps your board near you at all times, it retracts so that it isn't in your way and its 10' length minimizes the possibility of it snapping your board at you when you fall or get lifted.

5' X 16" "Woody" Kiteboard

This board is made from 2 layers of marine plywood, coated with clear epoxy and comes complete with fins, footpads and adjustable footstraps. Extremely durable, it does everything boards more than twice the price do. Because it doesn't have the flotation of bigger foam filled boards, it isn't ideal as a first board for most people. However, it is an exceptional value as a second board when edging ability and maneuverability become more important.

Wind Meter

Wind meters are especially useful for beginners because they can provide a relatively stable and convenient reference for wind conditions where you kite. This Dwyer wind meter is the best value we've found. It's durable, reasonably accurate and a fraction of the price of many others.

We occasionally have good used equipment available. Although, we tend to reserve it for our students and especially those who have purchased our Best Value Lesson Package, it never hurts to ask. Please email or call us at 310-430-KITE (5483) with any requests.
We also may be able to refer you to a private party or kite shop who has what you want.

You can purchase items separately at similarly reduced prices.
If you're looking for a particular product which we don't carry, we may be able to point you to a good supplier.

Sales tax and shipping

There is NO SALES TAX on lessons or lesson packages. Sales tax on merchandise bought in Los Angeles County is 8.25% (.00825).
Shipping charges are usually only the actual UPS charges . However we can often hand deliver your purchases more quickly and for less (or ZERO) cost.
