Our goal is to provide you with the By "BEST WAY" we mean your obtaining the skills and knowledge you need to SAFELY begin kitesurfing through a combination of the safest, quickest and most economical methods feasible. We also strive to make sure your lesson is lot of fun. One way we do this is by minimizing anxiety. We know that flying a powerful kite can at first be somewhat intimidating so we'll first show you how to control a relatively small and weak kite. As you gain experience and confidence, we increase the kite's power (probably by putting up a bigger kite) until you find any anxiety transformed into an exciting adrenaline rush as you maneuver it so it drags you where you want to go. When you're ready to get in the water, we swim out with you so that you can learn to get up in deeper water, past the surf line and still hear us despite wearing a helmet and the noise of the surf. It's not only safer to practice in deeper water, but also much easier to learn how to get up and ride. We’re also closer in the event of any problems and can provide instant and accurate feedback. We also have developed a RADIO COMMUNICATION system for the stages where it isn't possible for us to stay next to you. This way you receive immediate feedback and advice when you need it most - not later on the beach when the experience is vague and hard to exactly recall or reproduce. We will customize our instruction for each client and there are no age or gender restrictions. Although we use small trainer kites from various manufacturers, most of our traction kite instruction is done using Peter Lynn Arcs, Bombas and Guerillas. There are many advantages to these kites, but the primary one from a learning perspective is their exceptional stability. However, if you already have a different kite, you're welcome to use it for your lessons. GROUP INTRODUCTORY CLASSES For people who are intrigued by kitesurfing but are mostly in the dark about what is involved and/or required to do it, we offer a low cost group kitesurfing class which covers the general basics. These are 2 hour classes, only cost $45 ($55 if not prepaid) and are usually scheduled on weekends at various college campuses as well as beaches or parks in the Los Angeles / Ventura County area. Many of the subjects listed on our "Lesson Subjects" page are covered with emphasis on safety considerations, equipment pros and cons, wind theory, location selection etc. And of course we'll be glad to answer any specific questions. Also, wind permitting, each student will fly a trainer kite. SPECIAL

beach lessons at the same time, the second
